The 224XLC Chassis dynamometer from Dynojet has set new standards in the developmentof Rolling Roads.
The 224XLC uses one large diameter drum, enabling the tyre contact to resemble "on road" conditions, this means that there is no wheel slip, or tyre damage whatsoever, unlike older twin drum systems, where the tyre try's to climb the front roller leading to slippage, distortion and in extreme cases, failure. Having no wheel slip issues, means that the dyno offers unparalleled repeatability.
The dyno has its own built in weather station, and allows no manual inputs, thus accurately correcting the power to either SAE, DIN, EEC, STD or JIS correction factors. The dyno can perform either Inertia tests, sweep tests, and step tests using the eddy-current retarder. By conducting a coast down test, we can also measure drive train losses and calculate clutch power.
We can also read Air/Fuel live and plot it against RPM or speed.
